Japanese artist Takahashi Hiroko studied at Tokyo University of the Arts, where she passionately mastered traditional crafts such as dyeing, weaving and engraving. Japanese Stories is Hiroko's first home fragrance collection, encompassing five unique scents which are reminiscent of her childhood in Tokyo.
A large scented candle with top notes of elemi, bay and bergamot; middle notes of cinnamon, clove, jasmine, nutmeg, gunpowder; and base notes of vetiver, patchouli, amber, pencil and hinoki (Japanese cyprus tree).
Candle 3 of 5 in the Japanese Stories home fragrance collection. The ceramic vessel is embellished with a striking gold geometric pattern and can be re-used as a storage pot once the candle has finished. The candle has a burn time of 150 hours, however it is recommended to not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. Comes gift-boxed. Fragrance III | San is also available as a diffuser.
Hiroko's story behind the fragrance III | San: "San celebrates a day's beginning and a silent dawn. Memories of opening a huge wooden box with the distinctive aroma of hinoki and at the same moment, unwrapping a doll from beneath layers of thin paper. A distant memory of this moment approaches with a serene stillness."
