More than simply a serving platter, this is a piece of art. The medium oval platter boasts an incredible reproduction of one of the stunning fish from the 1719 publication “Poissons, écrevisses et crabes…” by Louis Renard. The artwork has now been created on the handmade earthenware platter using a combination of glaze decorating techniques: drawing with pipettes, painting and sponging.
The durable oval platter is best cared for when washed by hand - please do not place in the microwave or dishwasher. Each platter is a one-of-a-kind item and may vary slightly from the photos, as it is handmade and decorated by a team of artisans in a small factory in Italy. The gorgeous platter makes a unique gift idea for all occasions.
* Due to the production process, each large platter may vary.

Unique and Unity is thrilled to launch a capsule collection of large decorative platters and dishes inspired by the beautiful, coloured engravings of Louis Renard. His extraordinary work purports to show marine life from the seas around Indonesia at a time when the natural wildlife of that area was virtually unknown in Europe. Renard, both a publisher and a spy for the British Crown, produced the work in 1719 in an edition of 100 copies. As a homage to Louis Renard BlissHome has created these designs in a small artisan factory in northern Italy. Each piece is hand decorated with sponge, brush and pipette techniques to give a totally unique finish.
